Vikings is a great historical series, one of the best in its genre, the show boasts a huge fan base, and also has awakened interest in history and revived the fashion for Vikings.

“Vikings” was commissioned by the American History Channel, but was worked on by Canadians and Irish. The series amazes with large-scale battle scenes, a solid and deep script, as well as maximum attention to the historical era. The authors of the series spent a lot of time and money (the budget of the first season was $40 million, then the amount increased) to make the Vikings and their contemporaries look in the show as they were in their time - the 8th - 9th centuries AD. On the other hand, the lack of accurate historical facts and the (semi-)legendary nature of many events allowed the authors of the series to freely interpret many events.
